Digital Power Network Hosts High-Level Roundtable on Grid Innovation and Digital Infrastructure
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Digital Power Network (DPN) convened senior leaders from government, industry, and the energy sector on July 24 for a private roundtable focused on grid innovation, digital infrastructure, and the growing role of flexible demand. The closed-door event brought together key voices from the White House, Congress, regulatory agencies, power sector organizations, and DPN member companies to address one of the most urgent challenges facing the U.S. energy system: how to meet surging demand from digital loads like Bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence (AI) while maintaining reliability and resilience.
U.S. Senator Jim Justice delivered opening remarks, underscoring the importance of American energy leadership and emerging industries like Bitcoin mining and AI data centers.
“Our grid is at a turning point,” said Hailey Miller, Director of Government Relations and Public Policy at the Digital Power Network. “Digital infrastructure isn’t just a consumer of power, it’s a flexible, responsive partner in keeping the grid secure, balanced, and future-ready. That was the message that came through loud and clear at this roundtable.”
Participants engaged in a candid, solutions-oriented discussion under Chatham House Rule, exploring how controllable digital loads can be integrated into demand response programs, accelerate clean energy buildout, and support the modernization of grid planning frameworks. DPN members shared case studies on flexible load programs, behind-the-meter generation, and real-time market participation.
The conversation reflected growing alignment between energy policymakers and digital infrastructure operators, with broad consensus that collaboration is essential to managing the grid transformation already underway.
The DPN Energy & Grid Innovation Roundtable is part of the organization’s broader effort to elevate the role of flexible load resources and advance policy frameworks that reflect the needs and contributions of modern digital infrastructure.
