DPN Witness Testimony

House Appropriations FY25

Throughout the House Appropriations process, subcommittees offer opportunities for public input on budget decisions through witness testimony. This is a crucial platform for us to influence fiscal policies that directly affect our industry. By presenting our detailed and strategic testimony, we ensure that our needs and recommendations are considered in the fiscal year's budget planning, highlighting our commitment to advancing industry-wide growth and innovation.

For Fiscal Year 2025, our focus is clear: we are requesting an increase in the Department of Energy’s Office of Science (OS) funding from the current $8.1 billion to $8.5 billion. This enhanced funding is crucial for expanding the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, which can play a pivotal role in fostering cutting-edge technologies and improving operational efficiencies at our bitcoin mining data centers. By advocating for this increase, we aim to support the development of innovative energy solutions that will not only reduce costs and improve sustainability but also strengthen our industry's global competitiveness and technological leadership.

The appropriations process is ongoing, and we will continue advocating for the necessary financial resources for our industry. We are committed to engaging with members of Congress to ensure our voice is heard, demonstrating the value our sector adds and the critical support required to maintain its growth and innovation.
